     Hot Spring Spa of Washington is the exclusive Hot Spring Dealer for the Washington DC metro area.  We have over 7000 customers and have been in business for over 20 years.  We have 3 locations:  Fairfax, VA, Rockville and Clarksburg, MD.  As part owner of the company, I wear many hats; one of which VP of Marketing.  I was very bogged down with the many tasks involved in this position.  I would plan the marketing/advertising calendar for the year, determine the budget, research the best medias to advertise in, meet with the advertising reps, negotiate the contracts, create the promotion, create the ad, proofread  the ad, track the success of the promotion, track whether we’ve been billed correctly, create a semi-annual newsletter, send out direct mail pieces and mass-emails, plan the promotion, hire the tent company, order the food, setup the stores for the promotion, and do a monthly promotion calendar for the sales staff.

     I was referred to Brigham Dickinson by another Hot Spring Spa dealer in Texas.  When we hired Brigham we were a little apprehensive about the distance between us.  He lives in Utah and we’re on the East Coast.  Our tentativeness was quickly wiped away when he jumped into the position of Marketing Manager.  He researched our market, our customers, our advertising medias, our company, and our employees.  He immediately determined what advertising we were doing wrong and what we should try.  He personally met all of our advertising reps and negotiated new contracts.  After revamping our advertising, he delved into our direct mail and mass-emails.  He hired a graphics designer to redo our direct mail pieces for ¾ of the cost we were currently paying.  The graphics designer also designed and sent the mass email out to all of our leads. 

     Brigham is a pleasure to work with.  He gets along great with our entire staff.  He works with our bookkeeper to go over bills from our advertisers.  He has our salesmen fill out a lead tracking form to determine what advertising is working.  He talks to them regularly.  He is totally working for us and will negotiate the BEST price he can in all situations.  He has no problem firing an advertising salesrep and moving onto another company or another salesrep…I like that! 

     In conclusion, I feel Brigham has taken a great deal off my plate to free me up to do other things in the business.  But here’s the bottom line:  our advertising dollars are down and our sales are up this year.   You would be very foolish not to hire Brigham as your marketing manager.
